Our story
Born to move. Built to heal.
High Heelz Heal is more than a dance program — it's a sanctuary where movement becomes medicine.

Jay Hernandez
Founder & Lead Instructor
With more than 30 years of dance teaching experience and certification as a ZTHEORY instructor, Jay brings a grounded, movement-first approach to every class.
After beginning his own heels journey as a student, Jay was inspired to create High Heelz Heal, a welcoming heels dance community where people can build confidence, develop technique, and connect through movement.
What began as part of a personal healing journey has grown into a space where individuals can explore self-expression, embrace their confidence, and discover the transformative power of dance.
Our approach
What is ZTHEORY?
ZTHEORY is a movement method that builds the strength, stability, alignment, and body awareness dancers need to move confidently in heels. It starts with intentional foundations, helping each dancer understand how their body moves before adding the challenge of a heel or pump.
In our classes, ZTHEORY connects technique with expression: you learn to engage the right muscles, develop balance and control, and explore your own walk and style. That solid technical base helps support safer movement, reduce the risk of injury, and give your choreography more freedom, confidence, and personality.

What we stand for
Our core values
Radical self-love
We celebrate every body, every background, every level. You belong here exactly as you are.
Safe space always
Our studio is judgment-free. What happens in the studio stays in the studio — and what grows here goes everywhere.
Joy as resistance
Choosing to feel good in your body is a radical act. We take that seriously — and we have a lot of fun doing it.
Community first
We're not just classmates — we're a chosen family. The connections made here last far beyond the studio.
Ready to find your community?
Your first class is just a step away. Come as you are — heels optional.
